TLDR Autologous FUE hair transplantation is effective and safe for treating hair loss due to scarring from infections.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of autologous follicular unit extraction (FUE) transplantation in treating secondary cicatricial alopecia caused by infections in nine patients aged 19-59. With an average follow-up of 12 months, the results showed an 88.9% satisfaction rate, indicating that FUE is a viable and aesthetically pleasing option with minimal complications. Despite the small sample size and lack of a control group, the findings suggest that FUE is a promising approach for treating infection-induced cicatricial alopecia, and future research with larger sample sizes is recommended.
