TLDR Micro-graft hair transplantation is an effective, simple, and painless method for permanent hair restoration in men and women.
The document reviewed the advancements in treating androgenetic alopecia, highlighting the development of micro-graft hair transplantation as a significant technical progress. This technique involved the transplantation of follicular units or tiny micro-grafts, which allowed for the permanent restoration of hair in both male and female baldness. The transplanted hair, consisting of 1 to 3 hairs emerging from a single orifice, was noted for its permanence due to the difference in androgenic receptors between occipital and other areas. The severity of alopecia could be classified using Hamilton's, Ludwig's, or Bouhanna's Dynamic Multifactorial Classification.
