TLDR European guideline best for treating hair loss; involve stakeholders and patients for improvement.
This study evaluated the quality of five guidelines for the treatment of androgenetic alopecia using the Appraisal of Guidelines for Research and Evaluation II instrument. The European guideline ranked the highest, while the American guideline of 1996 ranked the lowest. The study found that high-quality guidelines for clinical practice can be provided by using the AGREE II instrument. The authors suggest involving relevant stakeholders and seeking patient feedback to improve future guidelines. Overall, the guidelines for androgenetic alopecia are a useful resource for clinicians and patients.
