TLDR Dermoscopy effectively diagnoses and evaluates female hair loss treatment.
This study found that dermoscopy is an effective tool for diagnosing and evaluating treatment for female androgenetic alopecia (AGA). The study included 34 women with AGA, and all patients showed hair miniaturization. The study found that peripilar brown halo was found in 65% of the cases, honeycomb scalp pigmentation was found in 41% of the cases, and only 3% of the patients showed yellow dots. The study concluded that dermoscopy is an excellent tool for early diagnosis and treatment evaluation of patients with AGA.
