The study developed a lauryl-free herbal shampoo using leaf extracts from the Brazilian plant Hancornia speciosa Gomes, focusing on antioxidant properties. Two hydroethanolic extracts were prepared using Soxhlet and ultrasound methods, with the Soxhlet method yielding a more favorable chemical profile, including saponins and polyphenols. The shampoo formulations, XP1 and XP2, contained 0.125 mg/g and 0.250 mg/g of extract, respectively. XP2 demonstrated superior foam height, dirt dispersion, and antioxidant activity. The findings suggested that mangabeira leaf extract was promising for creating antioxidant-rich shampoos.
