TLDR Better hair care products are needed to protect against grooming and chemical damage.
Most hair damage resulted from grooming habits and chemical exposure for cosmetic purposes. The study highlighted the need for improved protective mechanisms against cuticular and UV damage to maintain hair's cosmetic value. Collaboration between dermatologists and cosmetic chemists was essential to develop better hair care products, with dermatologists focusing on enhancing hair shaft functioning and chemists identifying and formulating effective substances.
