Anti-Inflammatory And Antifungal Activities Of Wood Essential Oil From Juniperus Morrisonicola Hayata

This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the wood essential oil from Juniperus morrisonicola Hayata (Jm-EO), highlighting its sesquiterpenoid-rich profile with significant anti-inflammatory and antifungal activities. Jm-EO effectively inhibited nitric oxide production in LPS-stimulated RAW264.7 macrophages and demonstrated cytotoxic effects against HepG2 cells. Widdrol, a major constituent, showed potent anti-inflammatory activity, marking the first report of such activity. Additionally, Jm-EO completely inhibited Laetiporus sulphureus at 100 ppm. These results indicate Jm-EO's potential in anti-inflammatory drug development and as an eco-friendly wood preservative.
