ANDROGENINĖS ALOPECIJOS MEDIKAMENTINIO GYDYMO GALIMYBĖS

Androgeninė alopecija (AGA) is a condition caused by an increased response to androgens, affecting over 70% of men and 50% of women. It involves increased levels of dihydrotestosterone and 5-alpha-reductase, leading to hair follicle miniaturization and hair thinning. The primary treatment for AGA is topical minoxidil, which induces scalp vasodilation and prolongs the anagen phase. Another effective treatment is finasteride, a type II 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that prevents the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone. Hormonal therapy with antiandrogens like spironolactone, flutamide, bicalutamide, and cyproterone acetate, which inhibit testosterone secretion and androgen receptors, can also be used for AGA treatment.
