TLDR Hair loss can be managed and sometimes reversed with certain drugs, but not permanently cured.
The thesis analyzed the potential for reversing male pattern hair loss, focusing on the anatomy of hair, the hair growth cycle, and causes of hair loss. It concluded that hair loss could be halted and sometimes reversed using FDA-approved drugs like finasteride and minoxidil. Other drugs, such as ketoconazole and dutasteride, showed effectiveness but lacked FDA approval due to insufficient evidence or concerns about side effects. A significant drawback of these treatments was the need for continuous use to maintain benefits, indicating that while hair loss could be managed, it could not be permanently cured.
