TLDR Combining Ayurvedic therapies with minoxidil is more effective for hair growth in men than using minoxidil alone.
This study assessed the efficacy and safety of combining Ayurvedic therapies with minoxidil for male androgenetic alopecia (MAA) in a 6-month trial with 135 participants. The participants were divided into three groups: holistic hair treatment (group A), minoxidil (group B), and placebo (group C). Group A showed a 3.16-fold increase in hair density compared to group B and a 5.82-fold increase compared to group C, according to TrichoScan® assessments. The holistic regimen was more effective than minoxidil, indicating it as a promising alternative for treating MAA.
