TLDR Using Centella asiatica EV and growth factors improves scalp health and hair growth.
This study investigated the effects of a topical scalp essence containing Centella asiatica extracellular vesicles (EV) and growth factors on scalp health and hair growth in 60 adults over 56 days. Participants were divided into five groups, including a placebo and various combinations of the base formula with caffeine, panthenol, rIGF-1, rFGF-7, and C. asiatica EV. The group using the formulation with both C. asiatica EV and growth factors showed the most significant improvements in sebum content, hair density, scalp condition, hair length, and reduced hair loss by Day 56 compared to the placebo. The findings suggest that plant-derived EVs combined with growth factors could be an effective strategy for enhancing scalp and hair health.
