October 2010 in “Archives of Dermatological Research” The study evaluated the effectiveness of Juvéderm hyaluronic acid fillers for wrinkle correction in nasolabial folds (NLFs) over 1 year following repeat treatments. A total of 80 subjects participated, with a median injection volume of 1.5–1.6 mL for initial treatment and 0.5–0.6 mL for repeat treatment. Results showed significant improvement in NLF severity scores, with scores decreasing from 2.5–2.7 (moderate to severe) at baseline to 0.7–0.9 (mild) at 4 weeks post-repeat treatment. At 48 weeks post-repeat treatment, 78–90% of subjects were responders, sustaining wrinkle correction for 18–21 months with 60% less filler needed for repeat treatments, suggesting that retreatment at 6–9 months is beneficial.
