TLDR The new facial treatment improved wrinkles and skin thickness, with most patients seeing results within a month, despite some temporary swelling and bruising.
The study reviewed the records of 200 patients who underwent a novel collagen stimulating slurry protocol for facial wrinkle reduction from 2009 to 2015. The treatment, which involved injections of a slurry containing autologous adipose, stem cells, and growth factors, resulted in an 80% improvement in facial wrinkles and a 40% increase in dermis density up to 6 months post-treatment. The majority of patients reported visible results within the first 4 weeks, with cumulative effects after subsequent injections. Although 39% of patients experienced swelling and ecchymosis, these adverse events resolved without intervention. The study concluded that the slurry provided clinically significant improvements in skin texture and was cost-effective compared to manufactured fillers, but further research is needed to understand the molecular and histological effects of the treatment.
