    GlossaryTelogen Follicles

hair follicles in the resting phase of the growth cycle

Telogen follicles, also known as resting hair follicles, are hair follicles in the final phase of the hair growth cycle, called the telogen phase. During this phase, hair growth stops, and the hair is eventually shed to make way for new growth. This phase typically lasts around 2-3 months, and it is normal for about 10-15% of hair follicles to be in the telogen phase at any given time.

TDM-105795 showed promising hair growth results, with higher efficacy than placebo and minimal side effects. It activates dormant hair follicle stem cells and may maintain gains without immediate loss, unlike minoxidil.

community Why don't Minoxidil regenerated hairs become terminal on the head?

in Minoxidil  84 upvotes 2 days ago
Minoxidil helps hair growth by increasing blood flow and prolonging the growth phase, but it doesn't address the root cause of hair loss, such as DHT sensitivity. Finasteride can help maintain some gains by blocking DHT, but stopping Minoxidil often leads to hair loss because the new hairs are dependent on it.
