Participants were divided into two groups: 31 used the cooling system, and 32 did not. Hair loss was assessed using WHO criteria across chemotherapy cycles. Results showed significant differences between the groups from cycles 2-6 (P < 0.05). In the second cycle, 77.4% of the cooling group had mild alopecia (grades 1-2), compared to 38.7% in the control group. By the sixth cycle, 50% of the cooling group and 75% of the control group had severe alopecia (grades 3-4). The study concluded that the penguin cap could effectively reduce alopecia in chemotherapy patients, though individual factors may affect outcomes.
