    GlossaryOrthostatic Hypotension

sudden blood pressure drop upon standing, causing dizziness or fainting

Orthostatic Hypotension, also known as Postural Hypotension, is a condition where a person's blood pressure drops significantly when they stand up from sitting or lying down. This can cause dizziness, lightheadedness, or even fainting. It occurs because the body fails to adjust blood pressure and blood flow quickly enough to counteract the effects of gravity.
