study of how drugs move through the body

Pharmacokinetics (PK) is the study of how a drug moves through the body over time. It involves four main processes: absorption (how the drug enters the bloodstream), distribution (how the drug spreads through the body's tissues), metabolism (how the body breaks down the drug), and excretion (how the drug is eliminated from the body). Understanding PK helps in determining the appropriate dosage and frequency of medication to ensure its effectiveness and safety.

The safety profile of topical finasteride relies heavily on the HPCH formulation, and using standard solutions might lead to different pharmacokinetics.
