condition where the immune system can't effectively fight infections

Immunodeficiency, also known as immune deficiency, refers to a state where the immune system's ability to fight infectious diseases and cancer is compromised or entirely absent. This can be due to genetic conditions (primary immunodeficiency) or external factors such as infections, malnutrition, or medical treatments like chemotherapy (secondary immunodeficiency).
