research The Contributory Roles of Th17 Lymphocyte and Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte at the Hair Bulge Region and Hair Bulb Area in Chronic Alopecia Areata Patients
Certain immune cells contribute to severe hair loss in chronic alopecia areata, with Th17 cells possibly having a bigger impact than cytotoxic T cells.

research Integrin α3β1 in Hair Bulge Stem Cells Modulates CCN2 Expression and Promotes Skin Tumorigenesis
Removing integrin α3β1 from hair stem cells lowers skin tumor growth by affecting CCN2 protein levels.
research Milia May Originate from the Outermost Layers of the Hair Bulge of the Outer Root Sheath: A Case Report
Milia may come from the outer part of the hair follicle.
research Vibrissa Hair Bulge Houses Two Populations of Skin Epithelial Stem Cells Distinct by Their Keratin Profile
There are two types of stem cells in rodent hair follicles, each with different keratin proteins.

research Genetically Induced Cell Death in Bulge Stem Cells Reveals Their Redundancy for Hair and Epidermal Regeneration
Hair and skin can regenerate without bulge stem cells due to other compensating cells.

5 / 1000+ resultscommunity Do you keep gains if you stop microneedling?
Stopping microneedling may result in losing hair gains, as it enhances the effectiveness of treatments like minoxidil. Combining microneedling with minoxidil and finasteride is more effective than using microneedling alone.
community Micro needling 25 days progress. I’ve been on fin and min for 6 months but micro needling has done SO much more to actually restore my hairline
A user shared a 25-day progress picture showing significant hairline restoration attributed to microneedling, in addition to using minoxidil and finasteride for 6 months. Other users discussed needle length, frequency, and whether the effects of microneedling are permanent.
community Clearing the air on how non-surgical treatments really work
Treatments for hair loss, including finasteride, dutasteride, minoxidil, ketoconazole, microneedling, and low level laser light therapy, which aim to reduce DHT production, increase cell absorption and blood flow, and stimulate epidermal stem cells. It also stresses the importance of patience when using these treatments.
community Confused why people are calling PP405 a cure...it never claimed to be able to undo miniaturization or revert vellus back to terminal hairs. It seems to be more of a growth stimulant like minoxidil.
PP405 is not a cure for hair loss but may reactivate dormant hair follicles, similar to minoxidil. It is unlikely to help with miniaturized or vellus hairs and is still in trial phases, with availability expected around 2030.

community If You Have DUPA, PLEASE READ THIS: Everyone Should Be Scalp Biopsied
Scalp biopsies are crucial for diagnosing hair loss conditions like Diffuse Unpatterned Alopecia (DUPA) and retrograde hair loss, as treatments like finasteride and dutasteride may not be effective if other conditions are present. Combining PPAR-GAMMA agonists with retinoids could improve treatments for conditions like Lichen Planopilaris.
