Differentially Methylated Regions (DMRs) are specific areas of DNA where the pattern of methylation—a chemical modification that can regulate gene expression—differs between two or more samples, such as between healthy and diseased tissues. These regions are important in studying conditions like alopecia, as changes in methylation can influence the activity of genes involved in hair growth and loss.
