    signaling protein that attracts immune cells to inflammation sites

    CXCL10, also known as Interferon gamma-induced protein 10 (IP-10), is a type of signaling protein called a chemokine. It plays a crucial role in the immune system by attracting white blood cells to sites of inflammation or infection. This protein is particularly important in conditions where the immune response needs to be regulated, such as autoimmune diseases and certain types of hair loss like alopecia areata.
