Cushing's syndrome, also known as hypercortisolism, is a condition characterized by prolonged exposure to high levels of cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Symptoms include weight gain, particularly around the abdomen and face, thinning skin, easy bruising, and in some cases, hair loss or excessive hair growth.
