bile acid aiding fat digestion and absorption

Deoxycholic Acid, also known as DCA, is a bile acid that is naturally produced by the liver and stored in the gallbladder. It helps in the digestion and absorption of fats in the small intestine. In medical and cosmetic applications, deoxycholic acid is used in treatments to break down and absorb fat cells, such as in the injectable treatment Kybella for reducing submental fat (double chin).

      in Research/Science  13 upvotes 1 year ago
Elevated bile acids can inhibit the enzyme AKR1C2, leading to increased DHT levels, which may accelerate hair loss in those predisposed to androgenetic alopecia. Treatments mentioned include topical minoxidil and finasteride.
