Chime Biologics and Hope Medicine are speeding up the launch of a first-in-class antibody drug, HMI-115, for endometriosis and androgenic alopecia. The treatment involves a series of subcutaneous injections, has shown promising results in phase 1, and continues to promote hair regrowth even after the treatment is stopped.

PP405 and ABS-201 are promising treatments for male pattern baldness. PP405 shows rapid hair growth in human trials, while ABS-201 shows significant regrowth in animal studies but is still in early human trials.

SCUBE3, a protein linked to hair growth in moles, was discovered over 25 years ago and is being developed by Amplifica for potential hair loss treatment. Concerns exist about SCUBE3's association with cancer, as it is a protein that promotes cell growth, which could potentially trigger cancer development if used for hair growth therapy.

Prolactin may contribute to hair loss, but targeting its receptor won't cure androgenetic alopecia. ABS-201 could be a useful alternative or adjuvant therapy, similar to JAK inhibitors, but not more effective than HMI-115.

PP405 may encourage earlier hair growth and slightly increase visible hair count but does not reverse hair follicle miniaturization in male pattern baldness. It does not address damage to the dermal papilla or broken Wnt signaling.
