TLDR Vitamin D may help reduce inflammation in acne.
The study investigated the effect of Vitamin D on inflammatory biomarkers in cultured sebocytes exposed to Propionibacterium acnes or Ultraviolet B irradiation. It was found that Vitamin D reduced the expression of inflammatory biomarkers in these conditions, suggesting a potential anti-inflammatory role of Vitamin D in acne treatment. This indicated that Vitamin D might have been beneficial in managing acne by modulating inflammatory responses in sebocytes.
