The Effect of Topical Cyclosporin on the Immediate Shedding of Human Scalp Hair Grafted onto Nude Mice

This study investigated the effect of topical cyclosporin (CyA) on hair growth using a model where human scalp hair was grafted onto nude mice. The study involved 2 groups: 15 mice treated with CyA in olive oil and 10 mice with olive oil only. Results showed a statistically significant delay in hair shedding from day 24 in the CyA-treated group, suggesting that CyA could be effective in treating alopecia.
