Studysummary This study found that combining cyproterone acetate with topical eflornithine was a safe and effective treatment for facial hirsutism in women. Our plain-language summary of this paper — not a Tressless recommendation.
In a study from 2013, researchers compared the therapeutic efficacy of a combination of Cyproterone Acetate and Eflornithine (topical) versus Eflornithine (topical) alone in treating facial hirsutism. The randomized double-blind study included 45 patients, with 23 in group 1 receiving the combination therapy and 22 in group 2 receiving only Eflornithine. The results indicated that the combination of Cyproterone Acetate and Eflornithine was safe, well-tolerated, and effective for the treatment of facial hirsutism.
