TLDR Procyanidin B-2 lotion might help men grow thicker hair without side effects.
In a double-blind clinical trial involving 29 male subjects, the topical application of 1% procyanidin B-2 tonic was investigated for its hair growth-promoting effects over a period of 4 months. The study found that 78.9% of the men in the procyanidin B-2 group experienced an increase in hair diameter, compared to only 30.0% in the placebo group. Additionally, the procyanidin B-2 group had a significant increase in the number of hairs larger than 40 micrometers in diameter and in the total number of hairs in a 0.25 cm² area of the scalp. No adverse side effects were reported. The results suggest that procyanidin B-2 could be an effective treatment for male pattern baldness.
