TLDR Skin symptoms like rashes and sores can indicate COVID-19 severity, especially in older people.
This study highlights the diverse skin manifestations associated with COVID-19, such as herpes zoster, purpura, and livedo reticularis, which may result from immune responses and microvascular damage. These cutaneous signs can potentially indicate the severity of the disease, particularly in elderly patients with weaker immune systems. Recognizing these manifestations could help predict the course of COVID-19 and assist dermatologists in managing the pandemic response effectively.
