TLDR Gel-SHP hydrogel speeds up wound healing by helping different cells work better.
The study introduces a multi-targeting hydrogel loaded with SHP099 (Gel-SHP) designed to enhance wound healing by modulating various cell types involved in the process. Gel-SHP facilitates rapid skin reconstruction by influencing macrophages during the inflammatory stage, fibroblasts during the regeneration stage, and smooth muscle cells during the remodeling stage. It promotes M2 macrophage differentiation and dermal shell remodeling of hair follicles through in situ release. Additionally, Gel-SHP modulates myofibroblasts to aid wound contraction via SHP099-scaffold interactions. The findings suggest that Gel-SHP is a promising tool for tissue regeneration, offering new insights and research paradigms for understanding wound healing and dermal shell formation.
