TLDR hUC-MSC secretome can help regrow hair in cases of hair loss.
The study investigated the effects of human umbilical cord mesenchymal stem cell (hUC-MSC) secretome on fluconazole-induced alopecia in 24 male Wistar rats. The rats were divided into four groups: control, 5% minoxidil, hUC-MSC secretome, and a combination of secretome and minoxidil. After inducing alopecia with fluconazole, treatments were applied for seven days. Results showed that the hUC-MSC secretome group had a significant increase in hair follicle count compared to the control and minoxidil groups, although changes in epidermal thickness were not significant. The study concludes that hUC-MSC secretome is effective in promoting follicular regeneration and holds potential as a biotherapeutic treatment for hair restoration.
