Methodology for Restoring Lip Shape After Tissue Loss: Practical Experience with Permanent Makeup

    Oleksandra Chyrkova
TLDR Permanent makeup can effectively restore lip shape and color after tissue loss, improving appearance and well-being.
The study explores the use of permanent makeup (medical dermapigmentation) to restore lip shape and color after traumatic tissue loss, such as from animal bites. Through a systematic review and a clinical case analysis, it was found that a staged dermapigmentation approach effectively camouflages scar tissue, repositions symmetry, and reconstructs the natural tone of the lips. The clinical example showed significant aesthetic improvement and enhanced psychological well-being for the patient. The study advocates for an interdisciplinary model involving plastic surgeons, dermatologists, and dermapigmentation specialists to optimize outcomes and improve patients' quality of life.
