TLDR Scalp Micropigmentation is an effective and safe option for hair restoration and camouflaging scalp scars.
The study evaluated the effectiveness of Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) in 22 patients (16 men and 6 women) with various scalp pigmentary issues, including male and female pattern hair loss and scalp scars. Conducted between 2017 and 2020, the procedure involved three weekly micropigmentation sessions and a touchup one month later. Follow-up periods ranged from 7 to 32 months, averaging 20 months, with minimal fading observed. Only one patient experienced an allergic reaction, and no serious adverse effects were reported. A post-procedure questionnaire revealed that 80% of patients, including all women, were very satisfied, and all would recommend SMP. The study concluded that SMP is a viable option for those seeking alternatives to hair transplantation or needing to camouflage scalp scars.
