TLDR Androgenetic alopecia negatively impacts quality of life, especially for women, due to social reactions.
The study assessed the impact of androgenetic alopecia on the quality of life (QoL) of 125 patients using the Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). Conducted at KEMU/ Mayo Hospital, Lahore, the study found that androgenetic alopecia significantly affected patients' QoL, particularly in symptoms, feelings, and personal relationships. Women reported a poorer QoL than men, with mean DLQI scores of 13.49 ± 3.91 for females and 11.87 ± 3.35 for males. The study concluded that psychosocial limitations were significant due to reactions from close relatives and friends.
