The Evaluation of the Quality of Life in Women with Androgenetic Alopecia Using Hairdex
January 2008
TLDR Androgenetic alopecia significantly affects women's emotions, especially older women.
The study aimed to assess the impact of androgenetic alopecia on the quality of life of 100 Turkish women using the Hairdex questionnaire, which is specifically designed for hair diseases. The results indicated that emotional scores were significantly higher compared to other aspects, suggesting that androgenetic alopecia had a considerable emotional impact on the participants. Additionally, there was a negative correlation between age and Hairdex scores, indicating that older women reported a lower quality of life related to their hair loss. The study also evaluated the acceptance of the Hairdex questionnaire among participants.
