TLDR Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) effectively improves skin aging with minimal risk.
This meta-analysis evaluated the efficacy of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) in treating skin aging by analyzing 9 randomized controlled trials with a total of 358 patients. The results indicated that PRP significantly improved subjective patient satisfaction and objective efficacy compared to control groups, with risk ratios of 1.34 and 1.42, respectively. Although some studies noted potential adverse effects, the pooled analysis found no significant difference in adverse effects between PRP and control groups. Overall, PRP is considered a minimally invasive and low-risk treatment with promising potential for clinical application in skin rejuvenation.
