TLDR Four botanical extracts were found to quickly attract neutrophils to wounded skin in zebrafish.
The document "616 Proteomic evaluation of four botanical extracts on skin cells" from 2019, actually discusses a study on neutrophil recruitment after cutaneous injury in zebrafish. The study, conducted by Leah Greenspan PhD, Keith Ameyaw, Daniel Castranova, Caleb Mertus, and Brant Weinstein PhD, used a timelapse movie of an adult Tg(lyz:DsRed2)nz50 transgenic casper mutant zebrafish to observe neutrophil behavior post-injury. The researchers observed a mass influx of neutrophils between 0.5 and 17.25 hours after the skin was injured, indicating that neutrophils respond quickly to cutaneous injury.
