TLDR Blood stasis is the main cause of spot baldness, and treatments should focus on improving blood circulation.
Professor Han Shirong, with extensive experience in clinical dermatology, analyzed alopecia areata, a condition characterized by sudden, patchy hair loss. While Western medicine attributed it to immune factors and Chinese medicine to blood and wind deficiency, Professor Han identified blood stasis as the primary cause. He advocated for treatments focused on activating blood circulation and removing blood stasis, using a combination of generalization and supplementation to eliminate stasis and promote the generation of new blood.
