July 2013 in “PubMed” A 17-year-old female with a history of anorexia nervosa experienced a 3-month period of patchy hair loss in the pubic region. Examination showed irregular hair loss with short hairs of varying lengths, follicular hyperkeratosis, and hyperpigmentation. Despite decreased hair density and broken hairs, the hair-pull test, KOH examination, and fungal culture were negative, and other diagnostic tests, including biochemical studies and imaging, were normal.
