Regulatory Effect of Astragalus Polysaccharide on Proliferation of Follicle Stem Cells and mRNA Expression of Its Specific Marker: K19 and β1 Integrin

The study investigated the effects of astraglus polysaccharide (APS) on the proliferation of follicle stem cells and the expression of specific markers K19 and β1 integrin. Using isolated follicle stem cells from 7-8 day old Wistar mice, the researchers found that APS significantly enhanced the positive expression ratio and mRNA expression of K15, K19, and β1 integrin compared to controls. These findings suggested that APS could promote the proliferation of follicle stem cells and increase the expression of K19 and β1 integrin mRNA, indicating a potential mechanism by which astraglus might treat alopecia and promote hair growth.
