TLDR The new gel effectively treats psoriasis with minimal side effects.
The study presents a novel nanocarrier-based strategy for psoriasis management using a hybrid nanocomposite of soya lecithin and PLGA to deliver resveratrol (RSV). The developed formulation, RSVNPGel, demonstrated improved physicochemical properties, including enhanced skin penetration and adhesiveness. In an imiquimod-induced psoriatic mouse model, RSVNPGel significantly reduced epidermal thickness and inflammatory cell infiltration, indicating its potential efficacy in treating psoriasis. The formulation also showed excellent safety and biocompatibility, suggesting it could be an effective topical treatment option that minimizes systemic exposure.
