TLDR The multimedia tool improved patient understanding of PRP treatment for hair loss.
The study focused on the implementation and evaluation of a multimedia patient education tool for individuals with androgenetic alopecia (AGA) undergoing platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatment. Conducted in a private dermatology practice in South Florida, the study involved 10 patients who viewed a commercially produced PRP education video. The teach-back method was used post-intervention to assess patient comprehension. Results indicated that the multimedia tool improved patient understanding of the PRP procedure, suggesting it could serve as a standardized educational method for dermatology providers treating AGA.
