TLDR Plasmatherapy improves immune status in vitiligo patients, especially those with segmental vitiligo.
The study investigated the impact of plasmatherapy on the immune status of 115 vitiligo patients, revealing significant improvements in immune markers such as CD3, CD4, CD8, and the immunoregulatory index (IRI) post-treatment. Notably, 85.2% of patients exhibited changes in immune status, with segmental vitiligo (SV) patients showing more pronounced benefits, including a marked decrease in interleukin-6 (IL-6) and immunoglobulin G levels. Plasmatherapy restored immune parameters in 73.5% of patients, with SV patients experiencing a 1.2 times higher improvement rate compared to non-segmental vitiligo (NSV) patients. The findings suggest plasmatherapy as an effective and safe adjunctive treatment for vitiligo, particularly beneficial for those with the segmental form.
