TLDR Mangkokan leaf contains various beneficial compounds like alkaloids, flavonoids, and steroids.
The study on Mangkokan leaf (Nothophanax scutellarium merr.) aimed to identify active compounds using Fourier Transform Infrared Radiation (FTIR). Various solvents were used, resulting in different yields: n-hexane (2.4%), ethyl acetate (3.39%), methanol (17.39%), and ethanol (19.55%). The n-hexane extract contained steroids, while the ethyl acetate extract had alkaloids, steroids, and phenols. Both methanol and ethanol extracts contained alkaloids, flavonoids, steroids, tannins, phenols, and saponins. FTIR was used to analyze functional groups in each extract.
