Comprehensive Physicochemical Characterization and GC-MS Profiling of Neelibhringadi Kera Tailam: A Traditional Ayurvedic Oil Formulation for Hair Growth

The study on Neelibhringadi Kera Tailam, a traditional Ayurvedic oil, confirms its efficacy in promoting hair health by evaluating its composition and properties. The oil, prepared using a specific Ayurvedic method, meets the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India standards and contains bioactive compounds such as steroids, alkaloids, phenols, and saponins. GC-MS analysis identified 25 compounds, with 18 major ones contributing to hair growth, antimicrobial action, and scalp nourishment. The findings suggest that the oil effectively penetrates the hair shaft, stimulates growth, and provides antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and hair loss–preventive benefits.
