Sudhanshu K. Mishra, Aishwarya Singh Rajput
TLDR PCOS affects many women, causing menstrual issues and infertility, but can be managed with lifestyle changes, medications, and possibly herbal treatments.
Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) affected 6%-20% of reproductive-aged women and was characterized by high androgen levels and hyperinsulinemia, leading to menstrual abnormalities and infertility. Treatment options included weight loss, a healthy diet, exercise, and medications such as metformin, clomiphene, letrozole, and finasteride. The review also highlighted the potential benefits of herbal treatments, which might have fewer adverse effects.
