TLDR AOPT-MTL effectively and safely treats nasal blackheads in Asians.
The study assessed the effectiveness of Advanced Optimal Pulse Technology with medium energy, three pulses, and long pulse width (AOPT-MTL) in treating nasal blackheads in 42 Asian patients. Over six sessions, the treatment significantly reduced blackhead severity and the Enlarged Pore Classification Grade from 5.40 to 2.90, achieving a 95.2% effective rate. Patients reported mild pain and temporary erythema, with no serious adverse effects, and high satisfaction at 90.48%. Improvements were sustained six months post-treatment, although a slight increase in pore scores was noted. The study suggests this novel, minimally invasive approach is promising for managing nasal blackheads, though it acknowledges limitations such as the small sample size and lack of a control group.
