Evaluation of a Novel Dermal Cooling System for the Treatment of Benign Pigmented Lesions in Asians

    The study evaluated a novel dermal cooling system (DCS) for treating benign pigmented lesions in 81 Asian patients. The DCS, which provides localized cooling of the epidermal layer, was administered up to 10 sessions at 4-week intervals. Results showed that 76.5% of treatment sites had obvious improvement, and 58.6% had marked improvement at 2 months post-treatment, with sustained effects at 6 and 12 months. Minor adverse events like erythema and edema were common, but pain was minimal, and postinflammatory hyperpigmentation occurred in only 2.2% of treated sites. The study concluded that the DCS is an effective, safe, and well-tolerated treatment for benign pigmented lesions in Asians.
