TLDR Both 1565-nm laser and 1064-nm laser safely and effectively reduce enlarged facial pores, with the 1064-nm laser causing fewer side effects.
The study compared the efficacy and safety of 1565-nm non-ablative fractional laser (NAFL) and long-pulsed 1064-nm Nd:YAG laser (LPNY) in treating enlarged facial pores on 18 individuals. Each participant received five treatments on different sides of their face at 2-week intervals, with a follow-up 2 months after the last treatment. Both subjective (pore improvement and satisfaction ratings) and objective (pore number) assessments were used to evaluate treatment efficacy, and side effects were recorded. Results showed significant reduction in pore size with both NAFL and LPNY (p < 0.0001 for both), with no significant difference between the two in terms of pore reduction, improvement, or satisfaction ratings (p > 0.05). Both treatments were well tolerated, though LPNY had less severe side effects. The study concluded that both lasers are effective and safe for treating enlarged facial pores.
