The study investigated the formulation and effectiveness of nanoemulsions combining mangkokan leaves extract and candlenut oil for promoting hair growth in male Sprague Dawley rats. Three nanoemulsion formulas were developed using the Trial and Error and spontaneous emulsification methods, with varying concentrations of the extracts. The formulations were semi-transparent, blackish-green, and stable for 2 weeks at room temperature, with particle sizes ranging from 17.7 to 109.56 nm and viscosities between 1.01 and 5.8 cP. The study predicted that these nanoemulsions would effectively enhance hair growth in the tested rats.
